Após o Consistório seguiu-se um almoço com vários bispos, amigos e personalidades presentes numa das salas do museu do Vaticano. Das várias sessões de fotografias que foram acontecendo ao longo deste almoço queremos realçar a fotografia que os escuteiros tiraram com D. Manuel Monteiro de Castro, o Sr. Ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros, Dr. Paulo Portas e o Sr. Embaixador de Portugal junto da Santa Sé, Dr. Manuel Tomás Pereira.
Logo de seguida e a pedido do seu irmão Dr. Joaquim Monteiro de Castro este grupo entoou duas canções, a Radiosa Floração e o Hino de Santa Eufémia onde D. Manuel de uma forma entusiasta acompanhou em coro as referidas canções.
No Domingo, dia 19, na Basílica de S. Pedro este grupo assistiu à missa presidida pelo Papa Bento XVI. D. Manuel Monteiro de Castro foi um dos novos cardeais que concelebrou com o Papa Bento XVI a missa dominical.
No final da eucaristia assistimos à habitual benção do Santo Padre, que de uma das janelas da sua residencia saúda todos os presentes na praça de S. Pedro.
